Seek the Maker, not the miracle

I saw a sign in front of a church this week that was advertising a “Miracle Worship Service” and something struck me as not quite right.

I imagined people making their plans to attend the service… people who need a miracle.

I’m sure we all have a situation where a miracle would be an incredible answer and we would be eternally grateful if it happened… but I feel like seeking only the miracle is missing the point. Isn’t seeking a miracle seeking the benefits without seeking the One who gives them?

I guess I just believe that if we are going after God with all that we have, the miracles will come.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matt. 6:33

Wouldn’t it be better to seek God, and only God?

I love finding such brilliant story-telling.

Beautiful images, sequenced so well… great soundtrack and voice-over.
